Well well well...Brad Pitt killing more movie Nazis. This movie looks stupendous! It appears this trailer is in most chronological order of the film. Which would mean this movie essentially changes genres as the story evolves. From what I can tell, it begins as an action hit, transcends into a romance story, and finally has the vibe of a very strong thriller. I am loving everything I've seen from this trailer and with Robert Zemeckis as the director, the potential gets dialed up to eleven. The man has directed big movies in all genres. Polar express, Back to the Future franchise, Forest Gump, Contact, Cast Away, Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The two main stars are no slouches either. Marion Cotillard won an Oscar in 2008 for some French movie, which is a huge deal since it was the firs time a foreign movie starred the winner of a leading role Academy award. Of course, Brad Pitt is the big draw here.
Look at this guy! He's 53 years old and still looks like the cowboy women fell in love with in Thelma and Louise. Actually....I think he looks better. This movie screams Oscar bait. If it delivers what we see in this trailer, it should yield multiple nominations for all parties involved. However, I'm firmly planted in the camp that Brad Pitt will never win an acting oscar. At least not unless it happens when he's in his 80s like Christopher Plummer. Brad will continue to be respected for his acting and get nominations whenever he deserves it, but he is just too much the prototypical hollywood leading man to win. I contend that he deserved a win for his role as Mickey: the fast-talking, Irish, bare knuckle boxing, gypsy in Guy Ritchie's Snatch. But, I digest. If this movies delivers what the trailer promises, we should see a heck of a film
